The main mission of Fashion Revolution, according to me, is to communicate that others way of consuming are possible and thus for the same level of style and quality that high level brands, is also to share a vision and to warn people why a 5 $ T-shirt or a 12 euros pairs of jeans is not a long lasting or a very ethic products...and last but not least, explaining how much Is uselessly polluting.
I believe that guilt will not resolve anything, any miss understanding or miss communication either. So let's be clear, I'm a fashion designer brand, using by choice as much as possible natural fiber, working with small workshops that I visit myself for every steps of production, I'm avoiding waist fabrics and I believe in common sense... And I'm not an ethical or organic certificated brand, I don't believe that fighting fast fashion through brand direct attacks is the solution. Thus, I'm not a consumer of fast fashion anymore because I believe in common sense more than anything else, buy less for better is being a "consumactor" instead of being a "consumfollower". Should common sense being a label ?
Who made my clothes ?
Well for les Etoiles de Noala Mrs Cam Loan, a 4 employees small workshop owner and Mrs Lien from an NGO familial workshop with 10 employees , both settled in Vietnam with a dedicated knowledge... I visit them as much as possible because proximity is also a choice.
As both a designer and an entrepreneur, I have the choice of my investment and budget. I invest in people and workmanship. That's my power and I use it.
